Girl injured in ATV incident

A Jack girl was transported to a Birmingham hospital after an incident involving an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) on Thursday in Coffee County, according to authorities.

Coffee County authorities confirmed a girl between the ages of 6 and 8 was injured Thursday afternoon after an incident involving an ATV off Coffee County Road 208 in Jack.

The girl was flown by helicopter to Southeast Alabama Medical Center and then expected to be transferred to a Birmingham hospital, according to authorities.

No other information on the incident was available Thursday, and a Coffee County EMS official refused to release the girl's condition.
