An Ozark teenager was arrested and another was being sought Friday after a rash of robberies took place in Coffee, Dale and Pike counties over the last couple of weeks.
Both Denzel Brown, 16, and Steven Roseboro, 20, of Ozark, were under $75,000 bail in the Pike County Jail on Friday after being charged with first-degree robbery. Authorities said a warrant was issued for first-degree robbery for 17-year-old Eunique Eqaulity Laquan Brown of Ozark, but he had yet to be arrested as of 1 p.m. Friday.
It was not clear whether Denzel Brown and Eunique Brown are related.
According to a statement from Troy Police Sgt. Tommy Scarbrough, all three are believed to have been involved in the robbery of a Troy convenience story on Sunday and the robbery of a person at a Troy pharmacy on Monday. In both robberies, Scarbrough said victims reported either one or two men demanding money at gunpoint.
According to Ozark Police Chief Tony Spivey, a similar incident occurred at an Ozark gas station on U.S. Highway 231 on Wednesday. At least one robbery was also reported in Enterprise.
Scarbrough said the Troy department was assisted by Brundidge, Enterprise and Ozark police departments and the Pike and Dale County Sheriff’s departments. The Department of Corrections and tracking dogs from Ventress Correctional Facility also assisted, according to Scarbrough.
The Wiregrass Violent Crimes and Drug Task Force assisted OPD.
Scarbrough urged anyone with information on the whereabouts of Eunique Brown to call TPD at (334) 566-0500 or the Secret Witness Line at (334) 566-5555.
