An Enterprise man faces an attempted murder charge after he allegedly shot another man three times late Wednesday night during a vehicle burglary.

According to an Enterprise police statement, officers arrested Glen Adam Stackhouse, 43, of Dixie Drive, and charged him with attempted murder and felony unlawful breaking and entering.

The statement said police charged Stackhouse with shooting the owner a vehicle he was allegedly trying to break into in the 400 block of Navaho Drive around 11:20 p.m. Wednesday.

The vehicle’s owner confronted the suspect and attempted to detain him at gunpoint until police arrived. But a struggle started between the two men, with the suspect gaining control over the homeowner’s gun, shooting him several times. The homeowner suffered three gunshot wounds, which included the wrist, leg and abdomen.

The police statement said the homeowner was taken to Medical Center Enterprise where he is expected to recover from his injuries.
