I feel much safer after viewing a PowerPoint presentation by our Dothan Chief of Police, Greg Benton.
Greg's outstanding presentation showed an outline of the police department's plans for 2012. I had no idea of the complexity of operation performed daily by our men and women in uniform in our police department.
The Chief's charts showed many upcoming programs of training to better inform the citizens of Dothan. Everything I saw looked well organized and has been given many hours of study by well-trained police officers.
The plans presented by Chief Benton seemed to be programs focused on making and keeping our city a safe place to live and to keep the citizens more informed.
Let's do our part by following the laws of the city and the laws of the land. Say "thanks" when you come in contact with our local protectors in uniform.
Remember, these men and women perform the same duties as our service men and women located around the world. They put their lives on the line daily for our safety.
