In response to Joe Fondren's, Feb. 7 letter, "What If,” what if the guys and gals on the ground do not contribute the most to one man's campaign? And what if they do?
People should realize that the president is not king and does not control this country. The executive, legislative and judiciary branches make up the laws of this country with the help of the people who vote them into office.
What if the people voted for the person instead of the party? What if the people stopped voting for the same politicians year after year knowing all that they care about is stuffing their pockets with taxpayers’ money?
What if they had to work the first year in office for free? If both parties worked for the best interest of the people, they get a salary. If not, they get fired.
When are the people going to demand that the voting ballots contain the names of everyone running for office without listing the ticket they are running on?
We do not need but one ballot. The ballot should list the names of the candidates and the office they are running for and no party affiliation should be listed. We can't take the money out of the elections, but we can take the names of the parties off the ballots.
