A four-time convicted felon received a 23-year prison sentence on Tuesday after she pleaded guilty to a felony burglary charge.

Assistant Houston County District Attorney David Atwell said Kimberly Anita Sanders, 27, of South Park Avenue, pleaded guilty to a second-degree burglary charge.

Atwell said as part of the plea agreement Sanders received a 23-year prison sentence in front of Circuit Court Judge Larry Anderson. Atwell said Sanders had four prior felony convictions.

Dothan police investigators arrested Sanders in March 2011 for the burglary.

A similar charge remains pending against a co-defendant in the burglary. Trevois Brascomb, 28, of Webb, has his case set for trial next month.

A Dothan police statement said Sanders and Brascomb were charged with the burglary of a home in the 800 block of Columbia Highway. The statement said the tenants were home when the back door was kicked open, and the two came inside but left after realizing the home was occupied.
