Ashford man faces assault charge

»  Comments | Post a Comment

An Ashford man faces a felony charge after Dothan police say he was allegedly driving impaired during a vehicle crash that left a woman with multiple injuries.

According to a Dothan police statement, police arrested Carl Edmondson, 47, and charged him with first-degree assault.

The police statement said the charge stemmed from a car crash which happened on Bethlehem Road on Jan. 18.

Traffic investigators say the collision occurred as a result of an impaired driver pulling into the path of an oncoming vehicle. Investigators say they received test results on Wednesday, which confirmed the driver was impaired at the time of the crash.

Court records indicate police charged Edmondson with assault for the injuries suffered by a Dothan woman, which included a dislocated shoulder and hip and broken rib and sternum.

Edmondson was taken to the Houston County Jail and held on $30,000 bail.
